Before Season 1 Age 0
Daenerys Targaryen was born to the Mad King Aerys Targaryen posthumously and Rhaella Targaryen on the island of Dragonstone. Her father and older brother Rhaegar had been killed during Robert’s Rebellion and her pregnant mother had fled with her brother Viserys to Dragonstone. There was a violent storm on the night she was born and she used the title Stormborn to mark this.

At about the same time as Daenerys’ birth, a son was born to Daenerys’ elder brother, Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark. The child’s identity was kept secret and he was named Jon Snow.

Daenerys’ mother died shortly after giving birth.

Daenerys and her brother Viserys were taken abroad for safety by Ser Willem Darry and others loyal to the Targaryens.
Before Season 1 childhood
Daenerys’ childhood was dominated by a need to raise money to mount an invasion to retake the Iron Throne for her brother Viserys. Viserys had a violent temper and used the threat of his bad temper to control his younger sister.
Season 1 Age 16
Daenerys and Viserys lived in the home of Magister Illyrio Mopatis. He told Daenerys that he had agreed a marriage between her and Dothraki leader, Khal Drogo. In return for Daenerys, Drogo would provide an army of 40,000 Dothraki to help Viserys retake the Iron Throne.

Daenerys Targaryen married Khal Drogo. She was given a present of 3 dragon eggs by Magister Illyrio.
Season 1 Age 16
Daenerys spent the first months of married life travelling to the Dothraki Plains. She learned how to please Drogo and get him to see her as his equal. She also learned to speak Dothraki.

With encouragement from Jorah Mormont, Daenerys gradually learned to stand up to Viserys.

Daenerys Targaryen became pregnant. She ate the heart of a stallion before the Dothraki and earned admiration from them for doing so.

Daenerys and Khal Drogo were at a feast. Viserys arrived drunk and threatened Khal Drogo with his sword demanding the promised army so he could take his crown. Drogo executed Viserys by pouring molten gold over his head.

Daenerys asked Khal Drogo to help her to take the Iron Throne herself but he told her that the Dothraki would not want to cross the sea.

Daenerys Targaryen was walking through a market when a wine seller offered her wine. Jorah Mormont realised the wine seller was trying to poison her and stopped her from drinking the wine.

Khal Drogo changed his mind and said he would help Daenerys to take the Iron Throne. Drogo led the Dothraki to Lhazar, the land of the lamb men, in order to take goods and slaves to sell to raise money.

Daenerys was very annoyed when she saw how the slaves were treated and demanded they be given better conditions. One of the Dothraki was annoyed by her interference and challenged Khal Drogo to a fight. During the fight Drogo was injured.

The captured lamb woman Mirri Maz Duur said she could help Khal Drogo’s wound to heal and Daenerys agreed to her treating Drogo.
Season 1 Age 16
Khal Drogo’s wound continued to fester and it became clear he was dying. Daenerys begged Mirri Maz Duur to use magic to save his life.
Season 1 Age 16
While Mirri Maz Duur was using blood magic to save Drogo’s life, Daenerys gave birth to a deformed stillborn child. Mirri Maz Duur told her that her son’s death was necessary to save her husband. Daenerys Targaryen was furious when she discovered that Khal Drogo was alive but in a vegetative state.
Season 1 Age 16
Daenerys suffocated Khal Drogo. She put her dragon eggs around his body and tied Mirri Maz Duur to the funeral pyre. After lighting the fire, Daenerys walked into the fire.
Season 1 Age 16
When the flames had died down, those that had remained with Daenerys Targaryen discovered that she was alive and had three newly hatched dragons. She was proclaimed queen by her followers.
Season 2 Age 17
Daenerys led her small party of Dothraki through the Red Waste but they had no food or shelter and no idea which direction to go. Daenerys Targaryen sent her three bloodriders in different directions to find which way they should go. Only one returned alive. He came with an invitation for them to go to Qarth.
Season 2 Age 17
Daenerys Targaryen and her Dothraki arrived at Qarth. They were given free passage into the city by Xaro Xhoan Daxos.
Season 2 Age 17
Daenerys was introduced to Pyat Pree who showed off his magic skill by reappearing in different places. He also invited Daenerys to the House of the Undying.
Season 2 Age 17
Xaro offered to pay for Daenerys’ invasion force if she married him but she turned him down.
Season 2 Age 17
Daenerys had been in Qarth for sometime trying unsuccessfully to raise money. One day she returned to Xaro’s house she found many of her men dead and her dragons missing.

Daenerys attended a council meeting to find out who was responsible for the attack. Pyat Pree declared his guilt then murdered the remaining council members.
Season 2 Age 17
Daenerys entered the House of the Undying. There she saw many visions including one of Khal Drogo with their son Raegor, but realised they were not real. Eventually she was captured by Pyat Pree but was saved by her dragons who burnt him alive.
Season 2 Age 17
Daenerys Targaryen found Xaro in bed with her handmaiden and feeling betrayed she locked them both in Xaro’s vault. She then took valuables from Xaro’s house and bought a ship.
Season 3 Age 18
Daenerys arrived at Astapor in Slaver’s Bay. Jorah Mormont convinced her that she needed to purchase an army of Unsullied.
Season 3 Age 18
Daenerys Targaryen went to negotiate the purchase of Unsullied with Kraznys mo Nakloz. Not realising that Daenerys could speak Valyrian he was very rude to her. Daenerys left to consider the deal.
Season 3 Age 18
Daenerys and Jorah walked back to their ship. Along the way a child caught Daenerys’ attention and offered her a ball. A hooded man, knocked the ball away where it cracked open revealing a poisonous manticore. The hooded man was Ser Barristan Selmy who had been dismissed from the Kingsguard by Joffrey Baratheon. He asked to be able to serve Daenerys.
Season 3 Age 18
Daenerys agreed to purchase all the Unsullied in return for her largest dragon. She also demanded that Missandei be given to her as part of the deal.
Season 3 Age 18
Daenerys handed over her largest dragon, Drogon to finalise the deal for the Unsullied. Once the Unsullied were hers, Daenerys spoke to them in Valyrian and commanded them to kill all slave masters and free all slaves. She then told Drogon to burn Kraznys alive.

Daenerys and her army of Unsullied journeyed to Yunkai to free the slaves there.

Daenerys Targaryen met with Razdmal mo Eraz one of the Masters of Yunkai who told her that she would not be able to conquer Yunkai.

Daenerys learned that the Masters of Yunkai were protected by a group called the Second Sons. Daenerys asked to meet with the Captains of the Second Sons. At the meeting Captains Mero and Prendahl called Daenerys a whore and abused Missandei.

Later, Daario Naharis entered Daenerys’s room disguised as an Unsullied. He revealed that he had brought Daenerys the heads of the two Captains she had met earlier and swore allegiance.

With Daario’s help, Jorah Mormont and Grey Worm secretly entered the city of Yunkai through the back gate. They then fought their way to the main gate and opened it so that Daenerys’ army could enter and take the city.

Daenerys Targaryen spoke to the slaves and told them that they were now free. They surrounded her chanting ‘mhysa’.
Season 4 Age 19
Daenerys began the march to Meereen. She was horrified to see that slave children had been nailed to crosses with outstretched arms pointing the way to Meeren. She ordered the children cut down and buried after she had looked at each one.
Season 4 Age 19
Daenerys reached Meereen and placed it under siege. She catapulted broken chains into the city to show how many slaves she had freed.
Season 4 Age 19
A party of Unsullied led by Grey Worm were sent into Meereen to start a slave revolt. The plan was successful and Daenerys entered the city.

Daenerys ordered 163 of the Masters nailed to crosses as the children had been.

Daenerys Targaryen learned that slavery had been re-established in Yunkai and that the ruling council in Astapor had been overthrown. Daenerys realised that she needed more experience in ruling before she would be able to take the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.

Leader of the Second Sons, Daario Naharis, began trying to seduce Daenerys. Daenerys was attracted to him and he became her lover.

Daenerys banished Jorah Mormont after finding out that he had spied on her in the past.

Daenerys was shocked to learn that some slaves in Meereen were not happy with being freed. She had been told by a slave that had been a teacher in a private house that he was now homeless because he had been sent out of the home. Reluctantly she conceded that he had free choice to return if he wished.

Daenerys received a man who showed her the charred body of his daughter who had been killed by her dragon Drogon.

Daenerys Targaryen knew she was unable to control her dragons and so took her two dragons Rhaegal and Viserion into the underground chamber and chained them as they fed.
Season 5 Age 20
Still in Meereen, Daenerys refused to allow the fighting pits to reopen. Daario tried to persuade her to reopen them but she still refused.

Daenerys went to see her two chained dragons but they tried to attack her and she had to withdraw.

Daenerys was pondering the fate of a captured Son of the Harpy. She decided that he deserved a fair trial but a freed slave, Mossador, killed him. Riots broke out when Daenerys had Mossador executed.

Daenerys was very upset when she learned that Ser Barristan had been killed by the Sons of the Harpy.

Daenerys Targaryen agreed to marry Hizdahr zo Loraq and also agreed to re-open the fighting pits.

Daario asked Daenerys to marry him instead but Daenerys refused his offer.
Season 5 Age 20
Daenerys appeared in public with Hizdahr at the opening of the fighting pits. She appeared very uncomfortable at the carnage. She was shocked when one of the fighters was revealed to be Jorah Mormont. Daenerys ordered Mormont arrested and as he was taken away, Tyrion Lannister, who had been with Mormont, presented himself.
Season 5 Age 20
Tyrion persuaded Daenerys Targaryen to let Jorah live. Daenerys asked Tyrion to be her advisor.
Season 5 Age 20
Daenerys, Hizdahr zo Loraq, Tyrion, Missandei and Daario Naharis attended the games in the fighting pit. Jorah Mormont took part in the games and became the last man standing. He spotted a Son of the Harpy behind the royal box and threw a spear which killed him. Sons of the Harpy then appeared around the arena and began killing everyone. Daenerys and her party were unable to leave and believed they would be killed. Suddenly Drogon appeared and burnt many of the attackers. Daenerys climbed on Drogon’s back and flew away. Drogon was badly injured by spears.
Season 5 Age 20
Drogon landed on a grassy hill. Daenerys went off to find food but became surrounded by a group of Dothraki.
Season 6 Age 21
Daenerys had been taken prisoner by the Dothraki. She was brought before the leader Khal Moro. She revealed that she was the widow of Khal Drogo and was told that she had to go to Vaes Dothrak and live with the other widowed Khaleesi.
Season 6 Age 21
Daenerys arrived at the Temple of the Dosh Khaleen in Vaes Dothrak. She was told that she would have to speak to the Khals and explain why she had not followed Dothraki law and gone straight to Vaes Dothrak.
Season 6 Age 21
Daenerys was reunited with Jorah Mormont and Daario Naharis who had come to rescue her. However, Daenerys revealed a plan of her own.
Season 6 Age 21
Daenerys Targaryen met with the Khals and to their amazement told them that they were not fit to lead the Dothraki and that she would be their leader. She then overturned the braziers setting the building alight. As the door had been barred from the outside the Khal inside were burned alive.

Daenerys emerged from the burning building alive and the Dothraki bowed to her as their Khaleesi.

Daenerys discovered that Jorah Mormont had greyscale and told him to go and find a cure then return to her.
Season 6 Age 21
Daenerys began the journey back to Meereen. Her dragon Drogon found her and she rode him into Meereen.

Daenerys met with the slave masters of Meereen who agreed to let her escape but said that Missandei and the Unsullied would be returned to slavery. Daenerys refused their terms by telling them that it would be they not she that was to surrender.

Daenerys ordered Drogon and her other dragons that had escaped captivity to burn the slave master’s ships.

Varys arrived in Meereen and pledged his allegiance to Daenerys Targaryen.

Yara and Theon Greyjoy arrived to form an alliance with Daenerys.
Season 6 Age 21
Daenerys made preparations to leave Meereen and sail to Westeros. She told Daario that he would not be sailing with her but that he would remain in Meereen to keep peace.

A massive fleet of ships carried Daenerys and her armies away from Meereen towards Westeros.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys Targaryen reached Dragonstone and began exploring. She stated that it did not feel like home.

Daenerys began to set out a strategy to take Westeros.

Daenerys Targaryen received Melisandre who gave her allegiance to Daenerys.

Daenerys ordered Tyrion to write a letter to Jon Snow asking him to come to Dragonstone and bend the knee to her.

Daenerys held a meeting with her supporters, Ellaria Sand and her daughters, Olenna Tyrell and Yara and Theon Greyjoy. Ellaria Sand and her daughters, and Yara and Theon agreed to sail their fleet to Dorne and then accompany the Dornish army back to lay siege to Kings Landing.
Season 7 Age 22
Jon Snow and Davos Seaworth arrived at Dragonstone. Jon refused to bend the knee to Daenerys Targaryen but asked for her support in the coming fight with the Night King.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister were both surprised and confused to hear Davos Seaworth state that Jon had taken a knife in the heart.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys learned that the Yara Greyjoy’s fleet had been attacked by Euron Greyjoy and that Ellaria Sand and Yara had been taken prisoner by Cersei.

Daenerys agreed to let Jon mine dragonglass.
Season 7 Age 22
On Tyrion’s advice, Daenerys sent the army of the Unsullied to take Casterly Rock. While they were taking the Rock, their ships were burned by Euron Greyjoy leaving them stranded. Meanwhile Jaime Lannister rode at the head of an army to take Daenerys’ ally, Olenna Tyrell and Highgarden.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys and Missandei pondered the fate of the Unsullied.

Jon Snow took Daenerys Targaryen to show her the dragonglass. He also showed her cave drawings of men and children of the forest fighting together against the Night King. Daenerys asked Jon to bend the knee and work with her but again Jon refused.
Season 7 Age 22
Tyrion told Daenerys that the Unsullied had been trapped at Casterly Rock and that Highgarden had fallen and Olenna Tyrell forced to commit suicide.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys determined to take action and took her army of Dothraki to meet the Lannister army. She rode on the back of Drogon and used his fire to burn through swathes of the Lannister army. She also burned all the grain that the Lannister army had collected for Kings Landing. With the Lannisters facing defeat, Bronn managed to reach a Ballista and fired at Drogon. He missed the first time but the second struck and Drogon flew to the ground where he destroyed the ballista. Daenerys tried to pull the bolt out of Drogon and did not see Jaime Lannister riding towards her with a spear in hand. Drogon breathed fire at Jaime who was thrown into the river by Bronn.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys Targaryen returned from the battle on the back of Drogon. They landed near Jon Snow and Drogon allowed Jon Snow to stroke him.

Daenerys agreed to let Jon Snow return North to bring a white walker back to Kings Landing to prove their existense to Cersei Lannister.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys Targaryen was reunited with Jorah Mormont who, cured from Greyscale, had returned to serve her. The reunion was short-lived as Mormont joined Jon Snow’s party to go north of the Wall.

Daenerys was unhappy when Tyrion Lannister questioned her regarding who would succeed her as queen given that she cannot have more children.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys received a raven calling for her help to rescue Jon Snow and his party who were surrounded by white walkers. She flew north with her dragons. After burning a large number of the white walkers Drogon landed and all except Jon climbed onto his back. After Daenerys’s dragon Viserion was killed with an ice javelin she flew off leaving Jon Snow to face the army of the dead.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys Targaryen was visibly happy when Jon Snow arrived at the Wall on the back of a horse. She visited him in his room and they held hands and shared a moment before Jon swore fealty to her.
Season 7 Age 22
Daenerys, Jon Snow, Tyrion and their allies met with Cersei, Jaime, Euron Greyjoy and Brienne of Tarth. Sandor Clegane opened the box containing the wight and the dead corpse ran towards Cersei. Jon then demonstrated that it could be killed with fire or dragonglass. Cersei agreed to a truce to fight the army of the dead, but Jon could not swear fealty to Cersei and talks broke down. After intervention from Tyrion the talks resumed and Cersei agreed to help them defeat the white walkers and wights.
Season 7 Age 22
Jon persuaded Daenerys Targaryen to sail to the North with the rest of the party rather than fly on Drogon. While on the journey Jon and Daenerys spent the night together.
Season 8 Age 23
Daenerys, Jon, Tyrion, Brienne, Ser Jorah, Sandor Clegane and those that had met with Cersei in the South travelled to Winterfell.

Daenerys and Jon rode off on the dragons to a waterfall where they spent some time together.
Season 8 Age 23
Jon met Daenerys and told her that he was really her nephew, Aegon Targaryen. She was not happy to learn that she was not the true heir to the Seven Kingdoms.

In the Battle of Winterfell, Jon and Daenerys rode the two dragons and cut down swathes of dead with dragon fire. However, the temperature plummeted amid a violent snowstorm making it impossible for the two to see the battle below. The freezing temperature also put out the fires that had been lit.

Daenerys spotted the Night King standing alone. She ordered her dragon to engulf him in fire but the fire had no effect and he walked away. Jon then rushed at him with his sword but the Night King simply raised the dead. Luckily for Jon, Dany had spotted his situation and turned her dragon to burn the dead allowing Jon to escape.
Season 8 Age 23
Rather than flying off, Daenerys hesitated for a moment. Her dragon was attacked by the dead and flew off leaving Daenerys on the ground alone. Ser Jorah arrived to protect her. Although he managed to keep her alive, he was mortally wounded. Daenerys was very upset by his death.

Daenerys Targaryen joined the other survivors to pay their respects to those that had died during the battle.

During the celebrations to mark the defeat of the Night King, Daenerys and Jon spent time together and Daenerys admitted her love for Jon. They spoke of the fact that Jon was actually Aegon Targaryen and Daenerys asked him to keep the fact secret since the throne was rightfully hers.

Tactics were discussed on how to defeat Cersei. Sansa requested that any attack be delayed so that the men have time to rest and march to battle refreshed. Daenerys angrily explained that she had lost her dragon and much of her army for helping in the defeat of the Night King and was not prepared to wait. Jon Snow backed her plan.
Season 8 Age 23
Tyrion, Varys and the remnants of Daenerys Targaryen’s army sailed South to Kings Landing. Daenerys travelled riding Drogon.
Season 8 Age 23
As Daenerys’ fleet sailed south, it was ambushed by Euron Greyjoy who attacked using huge ballista scorpions. Daenerys’ dragon, Rhaegal was hit three times and fell from the sky, dead. The fleet was destroyed and those onboard had to swim to shore. She soon learned that Missandei had been captured.
Season 8 Age 23
Daenerys, Tyrion, Varys and her army positioned themselves outside Kings Landing. Cersei, Euron, the Mountain and Missandei were on the battlements. Tyrion tried to convince Cersei to find a peaceful solution but she refused and ordered the Mountain to behead Missandei. Before she died Missandei shouted ‘dracarys’ Daenerys’ word for her dragons to breathe fire.
Season 8 Age 23
Daenerys Targaryen was furious at the death of her friend and confidante and declared her intention to burn Kings Landing.
Season 8 Age 23
Tyrion told Daenerys Targaryen that Varys had betrayed her. She ordered the arrest of Varys and had him executed by dragonfire.
Season 8 Age 23
Jon Snow tried to persuade Daenerys that he was not interested in the throne. He told her that he was loyal to her and loved her.
Season 8
Tyrion tried to persuade Daenerys not to destroy King’s Landing and kill thousands of innocent people. He told her that the people would ring the city bells if the city surrendered.
Season 8 Age 23
Daenerys told Tyrion that his brother, Jaime, had been captured and imprisoned. Tyrion freed Jaime and persuaded him to go and ring the city bells and open the city gates to allow the people to escape.
Season 8 Age 23
The battle for King’s Landing began when Daenerys, riding on the back of Drogon, destroyed the Iron Fleet. She then burnt a hole in the walls of King’s Landing and set the Golden Company on fire. Next she destroyed all balista scorpions on the ramparts.
Season 8 Age 23
Daenerys’ army led by Jon Snow, Grey Worm and Davos fought inside the city and came face to face with the main Lannister army. After a pause the Lannister army laid down their weapons.

The city bells began to ring and Tyrion and Jon Snow looked very relieved. However Daenerys then flew off on Drogon and began destroying the city with dragonfire.

Following Daenerys’ lead, Grey Worm began killing the Lannister soldiers that had surrendered. Jon tried to get the men to retreat but they followed Grey Worm.
Season 8 Age 23
Satisfied that she had got rid of the bad in Kings Landing, Daenerys Targaryen addressed her armies. She told them that the war was not over and that she would take her army to all corners of Westeros to free the people.
Season 8 Age 23
Jon Snow spoke to Daenerys and tried to convince her to stop the killing and destruction. When it became clear that she would not be persuaded he stabbed her in the heart. Daenerys died instantly. Her body was carried away by Drogon.
