Before Season 1 (age 0)
Sandor Clegane was born 5 years after his elder brother Gregor Clegane.
Before Season 1 (age 7)
Sandor’s brother caught him playing with one of his old toys. He was so angry that he held Sandor’s face in the fire burning him and scarring his face for life.
Before Season 1 (age 12)
Sandor fought in Robert’s Rebellion and made his first kill. He wore a helmet shaped like a hound’s head earning him the nickname ‘The Hound’.
Before Season 1 (age 13)
Sandor Clegane became disillusioned with the chivalry of the royal court after his brother, who was dishonourable, was knighted.
Season 1 (age 29)
Clegane served the royal family as a personal bodyguard to heir to the throne, Joffrey Baratheon. He accompanied them north to Winterfell when Robert Barratheon road north to ask Ned Stark to be the Hand of the King.

Joffrey ordered Sandor to kill the butcher’s son, Mycah after Joffrey was humiliated by Arya Stark.

Back in Kings Landing, Clegane attended the tournament to honour Ned Stark’s appointment as Hand of the King and stood bodyguard over Joffrey. He also stepped in and saved Loras Tyrell from being killed by his brother, Gregor Clegane.

Joffrey Baratheon became King after Robert Baratheon died.
Season 1 (age 29)
Sandor was one of the King’s men that was ordered to capture Ned and Sansa Stark.

After Eddard Stark was beheaded, Sandor picked up his head and showed it to the crowd.

Clegane was sympathetic to Sansa when Joffrey took her to look at her father’s head. He also stopped her from pushing Joffrey off the battlements.
Season 2 (age 30)
Sandor fought in the tournament to celebrate Joffrey’s nameday.
Season 2 (age 30)
Sandor Clegane was present at the port side for the departure of Myrcella Baratheon who was travelling to Dorne to be raised and eventually married to Trystane Martell. As the group returned to the Red Keep, Joffrey was hit by excrement and he ordered his guards to kill everyone. The crowd became violent and Sandor ushered Joffrey to safety before going back and rescuing Sansa who was about to be raped.
Season 2 Age 32
Sandor was disturbed by the burning wildfire at the Battle of Blackwater. He left the battle and hid in Sansa Stark’s chamber. He offered to take her north but she refused hoping that since Stannis was winning the battle she would be restored to her family.
Season 3 Age 31
Sandor Clegane was captured by the Brotherhood without Banners and he recognised Arya Stark who had also been captured. Arya accused him of murdering Myca, the butcher’s son. Sandor was freed after winning a trial by combat against Beric Dondarrion.

Sandor captured Arya who had escaped from the brotherhood. He told her he would take her to her mother and collect a ransom.

Robb Stark and most of his army attended the wedding of Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey which became known as the Red Wedding. After the ceremony there was a feast in the great hall. After Edmure and Roslin had retired for the night the rest of the party continued celebrating. The doors were then secured and the pregnant Talisa was stabbed in the stomach. Stark men were then shot with crossbows and Robb was wounded. Roose Bolton, previously a Stark ally, stabbed Robb in the heart. Catelyn had her throat cut. Sandor Clegane arrived just after the event and was too late to prevent Arya seeing Robb’s body with his direwolf’s head sewn on to it.
Season 3 Age 31
Clegane and Arya came across a group of men round a campfire describing the massacre of Arya’s mother and brother. Arya stabbed one of the men in the neck and Clegane killed the other three.
Season 4 Age 32
Sandor now decided to take Arya to her aunt Lysa at The Eyrie. On the journey they stopped at an inn and Arya recognised Polliver in a group of men. Polliver recognised Clegane and a fight ensued. Arya killed Polliver and took back her sword Needle.

Clegane and Arya were set upon by Biter and Rorge, the two prisoners who were in the wooden cart with Jaqen H’ghar when Arya first left Kings Landing. Arya killed Rorge and Sandor Clegane killed Biter but not before he was bitten in the neck.

Sandor would not let Arya cauterise the wound on his neck so she cleaned it and stitched it up.

Sandor and Arya came across a farmer and his daughter Sally who invited them in for a meal and shelter. Despite promising to help the farmer the next morning Sandor stole his silver and he and Arya left.

Sandor Clegane and Arya Stark reached The Vale where Clegane hoped to sell Arya for a ransom. However, before they arrived they learned that Lysa Arryn was dead.

Sandor and Arya were found by Brienne of Tarth and Podrick Payne. Arya hid while Brienne and Clegane fought. After Clegane was wounded Brienne and Podrick left. Arya took Clegane’s money and left him for dead.
Season 6 Age 34
Sandor was found by Septon Ray who took him to live with his band of villagers. Sandor helped Septon with work building a new church.

Sandor was disturbed when a group of Brotherhood Without Banners arrived in the village. Although they left Sandor believed they would return.

Sandor had been away from the village chopping wood. When he returned he found that all the villagers had been killed.

Sandor tracked down all but one of the murderers and killed them. He found the last murderer about to be hanged by Beric Dondarrion.

Beric Dondarrion persuaded Sandor Clegane to join their group and go north with them to fight the White Walkers.
Season 7 Age 35
On their journey north the party stayed at the house of the farmer and his daughter Sally and Sandor noted their skeletons in the corner of the room.

Thoros of Myr persuaded Sandor to look into the flames and he was amazed to see a mountain shaped like an arrow and a castle on a wall. He also saw wights walking towards the wall.

Sandor decided to bury the bodies of the farmer and his daughter.

When they reached Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, the party was caught by wildlings who were working with the Night’s Watch. They were put in cells. Jon Snow decided to take them with him to capture a wight to take south to show Cersei Lannister.

Sandor accompanied Jon Snow, Beric Dondarrion, Gendry, Tormund and Jorah Mormont north of the Wall to capture a wight. After fighting off a wight polar bear they eventually captured a wight. However they were soon stranded, surrounded by a number of White Walkers and thousands of wights.

After being stranded for a period of time, Sandor Clegane threw a rock at a wight and hit it. A second rock skidded on the ice revealing it to be safe to walk on. The wights then approached and attacked. Thoros of Myr was killed meaning that Beric Dondarrion could not be brought back to life again. Sandor survived after flying back to the Wall on the back of the dragon, Drogon.
Season 7 Age 35
Sandor Clegane, Gendry and Davos Seaworth took the captured wight to King’s Landing for the meeting with Cersei Lannister.

Sandor was present at the meeting where Jon, Daenerys, Tyrion, Brienne and their allies met with Cersei, Jaime and Euron Greyjoy. He recognised his brother and told him that he would kill him. During the meeting Sandor Clegane opened the box containing the wight and the dead corpse ran towards Cersei.
Season 7 (age 35)
After the meeting, Sandor, Tyrion, Daenerys, Jon Snow, Davos Seaworth, Gendry, Brienne and their followers left Dragonstone to sail north.

Sandor Clegane, Jon Snow, Daenerys, Tyrion, Brienne, Ser Jorah and those that had met with Cersei in the South arrived in Winterfell.

Gendry made Sandor a dragonglass axe.

On the night before the Battle for Winterfell, Sandor spent time on the battlements of Winterfell drinking.

At the beginning of the Battle for Winterfell, Sandor stood with the infantry. However, when the trench in front of them was set alight he left the front line. He returned to the battle after seeing Arya fighting a number of wights alone. At one point Arya Stark shot an arrow to save Sandor Clegane from being killed.

Later in the battle, Sandor saved Arya after she was pursued by a group of the dead. He picked her up and ran with her to safety while Beric Dondarrion was killed holding the dead off so they could escape.

Sandor Clegane attended the festivities to celebrate the destruction of the Night King and the army of the dead.

Shortly afterwards Sandor left Winterfell to ride south. He was soon joined by Arya Stark.

Sandor and Arya managed to enter the city just before the gates were closed. They made their way through the city to the Red Keep.

Sandor and Arya reached the Red Keep. The bells had been rung signalling the city’s surrender and the city was virtually destroyed. Sandor persuaded Arya that Cersei was going to die and that she should not sacrifice herself. Arya thanked him and walked away.

Sandor Clegane continued into the Red Keep and found Cersei, Qyburn and his brother, The Mountain. The Mountain killed Qyburn and the two brothers began to fight. After a long and bloody fight where it appeared that the Mountain would finally win, Sandor tackled The Mountain and the two fell out of the tower to their deaths.
