Corlys raised concerns regarding the formation of a Triarchy led by Craghas Drahar that had conquered the Stepstones. Drahar was know as Crabfeeder because of his practice of killing his prisoners by nailing them to driftwood and placing flesh-eating crabs on their body. He told the Council that if not stopped quickly, the Triarchy would disrupt trade and ruin the economy of Westeros. Viserys dismissed the idea of action insisting that peace must be maintained.

He was told that the child could be saved if they cut Aemma open but she would die if they did so. Viserys chose to save the child. He sat with his wife as she bled to death. The child died soon after its birth.

He pleaded with the King to allow him to take the Royal fleet to defeat Craghas Drahar. Corlys approved of the idea suggested by Rhaenyra that the dragonriders be used to quickly defeat the pirate. However, Viserys refused to sanction any action that might provoke war with the Free Cities.

To force Drahar out of the caves, Corlys’ son, Laenor, suggested that Prince Daemon be used as bait to draw them into the open. Daemon reluctantly agreed to the plan.
Season 1 Age 60
Laenor’s plan succeeded. Daemon pretended to surrender and lured Drahar’s men out of the caves. Once in the open, Laenor, riding his dragon Seasmoke, destroyed huge numbers of pirates. Corlys and his brother Vaemond attacked and killed those that survived the dragon fire. Daemon followed Craghas Drahar into the caves and later emerged dragging his body.
