This timeline gives a chronological listing of the main events in the life of the fictitious character Margaery Tyrell as shown in the TV series Game of Thrones

Before Season 1 Age 0
Margaery Tyrell was born the daughter of Mace Tyrell and Alerie Hightower. She has a brother, Loras.
Before Season 1 Age 15
Margaery’s brother has become a famed knight and is in Kings Landing with his lover, Renly Baratheon, brother of King Robert.
Season 1 Age 16
After it became clear that Robert Baratheon would die from his injuries, Loras Tyrell persuaded Renly to leave Kings Landing with his army and prepare to take the throne.
Season 2 Age 17
Margaery married Renly Baratheon to strengthen the bond with House Tyrell. Although Renly had no interest in women and was in a relationship with Margaery’s brother Loras, Margaery impressed on him the need for her to become pregnant.
Season 2 Age 26
When Renly was unable to consummate the marriage, Margaery suggested Loras join them in the bedchamber.
Season 2 Age 26
Renly Baratheon was fatally stabbed by a plume of black smoke in the form of a man that had been conjured by the Red Woman, Melisandre.
Season 2 Age 26
After the death of Renly, Petyr Baelish persuaded the Tyrells to ally themselves with House Lannister.
Season 2 Age 17
At the Battle of the Blackwater, Ser Loras was instrumental in securing victory for the Lannister army. King Joffrey told Loras he could have anything he wanted. Loras asked that Joffrey marry Margaery.
Season 2 Age 17
King Joffrey repudiated his betrothal to Sansa Stark and agreed to marry Margaery Tyrell.
Season 3 Age 18
Margaery shocked the Royal family and guards when she decided to do a walk about in Flea Bottom, the poorest area of Kings Landing.
Season 3 Age 18
Lady Olenna Tyrell, Margaery’s grandmother, arrived in Kings Landing to help organised her granddaughter, Margaery’s wedding to Joffrey.
Season 3 age 18
Olenna and Margaery met with Sansa Stark to try to discover what Joffrey was really like. Sansa told them that Joffrey was a monster.
Season 3 Age 18
Margaery’s grandmother wanted to marry Ser Loras to Sansa Stark as this would give the Tyrells influence in the North.
Season 3 Age 18
When Tywin Lannister learned of the marriage plan of the Tyrells, he ordered that Tyrion Lannister should marry Sansa Stark and Cersei should marry Ser Loras.
Season 3 Age 18
Margaery tried to console Sansa Stark who was devastated at being forced to marry Tyrion Lannister. Margaery pointed out that Tyrion would at least treat her well.
Season 3 Age 18
Margaery attended the wedding of Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister. Cersei was horrified when Margaery referred to her a sister and threatened to have her killed if she used the word sister again.
Season 4 Age 19
Joffrey was persuaded by Margaery to greet the people from the steps of the Red Keep. They were met by cheering crowds. Cersei Lannister quickly realised that Margaery Tyrell had more influence over Joffrey than she did.
Season 4
The wedding of Margaery and Joffrey went ahead. During the wedding breakfast Joffrey’s behaviour worsens. But his wine was poisoned and he collapsed and died. Tyrion was arrested on Cersei’s order, accused of administering the poison. Sansa was nowhere to be found, her escape was arranged by Petyr Baelish.
Season 4
Tommen became King but the country was ruled by his grandfather, Tywin, as Hand of the King. Encouraged by her grandmother, Margaery began to make Tommen fall in love with her.
Season 4 Age 19
Margaery attended the coronation of Tommen.
Season 4 Age 19
It was agreed that Tommen and Margaery should marry to maintain the alliance between the Lannisters and the Tyrells.
Season 4 Age 19
Tommen and Margaery were quietly married two weeks after Tommen’s coronation. The marriage was consummated on the wedding night.
Season 5 Age 20
Angered by the influence of Margaery on Tommen, Cersei decided to ally herself with the Sparrows and tried to bribe the ‘High Sparrow’ by allowing him to re-form the Faith Militant. This armed branch of the Faith then arrested Loras Tyrell on a charge of being a homosexual. Margaery was also arrested as an accomplice.
Season 5 Age 20
Margaery managed to get word to her grandmother about Loras’ arrest. Olenna returned to Kings Landing. She tried to appeal to Cersei Lannister but without success.
Season 5 Age 20
A pre-trial was held. The prostitute, Olyvar, who had been bribed by Cersei, gave evidence against Loras. Loras was told he would face a full trial. Margaery was imprisoned for lying to the court.
Season 5 Age 20
Olenna tried to appeal to the High Sparrow to secure the release Loras and Margaery but to no avail.
Season 5 Age 20
Petyr Baelish told Olenna that Cersei had an adulterous affair with Lancel Lannister. Olenna spoke to Lancel who had no choice but to admit the affair to the High Sparrow. Cersei was arrested and charged with extramarital affairs and incest. Cersei was made to make a ‘walk of atonement’ naked through the streets of the city.
Season 6 Age 21
Olenna Tyrell was given a place on the small council which angered Cersei.
Season 6 Age 21
Olenna, Cersei and Jaime hatched a plan to free Loras and Margaery. However, after Tommen allied the Crown and the Faith Militant the plan was unworkable.
Season 6 Age 15
After visiting his wife, Margaery, Tommen decided to convert to the Faith of the Seven. His action saved Margaery from the walk of shame.
Season 6 Age 21
Olenna visited Margaery, who had converted to the Faith, to try to persuade her to stand against the Faith. She believed that Margaery had truly been converted until Margaery gave her a folded note showing the House Tyrell sigil.
Season 6 Age 21
Fed up with being opposed, Cersei arranged for the Great Sept of Baelor to be destroyed by wildfire when most of her opponents were there for the trial of Loras Tyrell. Those killed included: Margaery and Loras Tyrell, the High Sparrow, the Faith Militant, Kevan Lannister. Tommen committed suicide after seeing the destruction caused by his mother.
