Before Season 1 Age 0
Renly Baratheon was born the son of Steffon and Cassana Baratheon. His elder brothers Robert and Stannis had been born earlier.

Renly’s father was sent on a mission to Volantis by King Aerys Targaryen and his mother joined him on the journey. On their return the ship they were travelling in sank and they both drowned.

Following the death of his father, Renly’s brother, Robert, became Lord of Storm’s End.

Renly’s brother, Robert was betrothed to Lyanna Stark.

Robert Baratheon was angry when Rhaegar Targaryen crowned Lyanna Stark as the Queen of Love and Beauty at the Tourney of Harrenhal.

The Mad King, Aerys Targaryen, murdered Rickard and Brandon Stark then called for Jon Arryn to hand over Robert Barratheon and Ned Stark. Jon Arryn refused and Robert’s rebellion began to defeat the Targaryens and place Robert on the throne.

The forces of Robert Baratheon scored a decisive victory over the Targaryen forces. Rhaegar Targaryen, Jonothor Darry and Lewyn Martell were killed.

Renly’s brother, Robert, became King of Westeros. Renly was appointed Lord of Storm’s End, a move which upset his elder brother Stannis who felt the title should be his.

Renly Baratheon began a homosexual relationship with Ser Loras Tyrell. The relationship was kept as secret as possible because homosexuality was considered a sin by the Faith of the Seven.
Before Season 1 Age 18
Renly Baratheon was appointed Master of Laws which meant that he sat on the small council. He moved to Kings Landing to take up the post.
Season 1 Age 25
Renly was present when his brother Robert returned to Kings Landing accompanied by his new Hand, Ned Stark.

Renly attended the tournament held to celebrate the appointment of a new Hand of the King. He watched his lover, Loras Tyrell, defeat Gregor Clegane.

After Robert was mortally wounded while out hunting, Renly suggested to Ned Stark that they should take Joffrey prisoner and that Renly should be made King. Ned refused.

After King Robert’s death, Renly Baratheon and those who thought he should be king left Kings Landing.
Season 2 Age 26
Renly, supported by House Tyrell, was crowned King. He raised an army of around 100,000 men prepared to support his kingship.

Renly Baratheon married Margaery Tyrell, sister of his lover, Loras, to strengthen the bond with House Tyrell.

Renly based his camp near Storm’s End in the Stormlands. He made the decision not to attack King’s Landing immediately but to wait until Robb Stark had weakened the Lannister army.

Renly threw a tournament to amuse his gathering army. Everyone was shocked when Loras Tyrell was beaten. The tall warrior was revealed to be Brienne of Tarth. As a reward for her prowess Renly offered her anything she would like. She asked to join his Kingsguard and he accepted.

Catelyn Stark arrived at Renly’s camp to negotiate on behalf of her son, Robb.

Renly, who had been unable to consummate his marriage with Margaery, was shocked when Margaery suggested Loras join them in the bedchamber.

Petyr Baelish arrived at Renly’s camp and suggested that he could help Renly become King. Renly made his dislike of Baelish very clear.

Renly met his brother, Stannis. Renly was accompanied by Catelyn Stark, Loras Tyrell and Brienne of Tarth, Stannis was accompanied by Melisandre and Davos Seaworth. The two were unable to find common ground, both refusing to support the other’s claim to the throne.

Having failed to reach agreement with Stannis, Renly ordered his men to prepare for battle.

Renly, Catelyn and Brienne were inside Renly’s tent negotiating an alliance between Robb Stark and Renly Baratheon when a plume of black smoke entered the tent. The smoke transformed into a human shape and fatally stabbed Renly in the heart.

Renly died in Brienne’s arms.
