Justin Bieber was born Justin Drew Bieber to Pattie Mallette and Jeremy Bieber in London, Ontario, Canada. Justin’s parents were not married and they split up shortly after his birth.
1994 (onwards)
Bieber’s maternal grandparents helped to raise him.
1996 (around)
Justin first showed an interest in music and his mother encouraged him to sing and learn to play musical instruments.
1998 (Autumn)
Justin began his education at the Jean Sauve Catholic School in Stratford, Ontario.
2006 (Autumn)
Justin attended the St Michael Catholic Secondary School.
2007 (during)
Justin Bieber entered a local talent competition and sang ‘So Sick’ by Ne-Yo. He came second in the competition.

Bieber’s mother uploaded his talent competition performance to YouTube. She uploaded future performances to the same channel and over the next few years Justin developed a huge online profile. His followers called themselves ‘Beliebers’.

Justin’s father began a relationship with Erin Wagner. They went on to have two children Jazmyn and Jaxon, Justin’s half-siblings.

The music executive, Scooter Braun, stumbled across Bieber’s YouTube channel and traccked him down. Scooter convinced Justin’s mother to let him record a demo. The demo was heard by singer Usher (Raymond) and he and Braun signed Bieber to their Raymond Braun Media Group.

Usher was instrumental in getting Bieber a signing with Island Records.
2009 (18th May)
Justin Bieber released his first single ‘One Time’. It reached number 11 in the UK, number 12 in Canada and number 17 in the US charts.

The single ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ was released. It reached number 10 in Canada and number 16 in the US Charts.
