Before Season 1 Age 0
Benjen Stark was born the youngest child of Rickard and Lyarra Stark. He had two older brothers, Brandon and Ned and an older sister, Lyanna.
Before Season 1 Age about 7 (Season 6 Flashback)
Benjen learned to use a sword as a child.
Before Season 1 Age 18
Benjen attended the Tourney of Harrenhal and, like others present was shocked when Prince Rhaegar Targaryen crowned Lyanna Stark as the Queen of Love and Beauty rather than his wife, Elia of Dorne. At the tournament Benjen listened to recruiters from the Night’s Watch and became struck on the idea of joining up.
Before Season 1 Age 19
After Lyanna disappeared, rumoured to have been abducted by Rhaegar Targaryen, Benjen’s father and elder brother, Brandon went to Kings Landing to protest but were executed by King Aerys Targaryen. Robert Baratheon vowed to avenge his betrothed’s abduction beginning Robert’s Rebellion.
Before Season 1 Age 19
Benjen Stark held Winterfell while Ned called out the Stark bannermen to avenge Lyanna’s death.
Before Season 1 Age 20
Ned returned to Winterfell with his new wife Catelyn, infant son, Robb and bastard son Jon Snow (revealed as Lyanna and Rhaegar’s child in Season 6) leaving Benjen free to join the Night’s Watch.
Before Season 1 Age 35
Benjen had served 15 years in the Night’s Watch and had been promoted to First Ranger.
Season 1 Age 36
Benjen visited Winterfell because he wanted to warn Ned and Robert about the strange happenings beyond the wall.
Season 1 Age 36
Benjen Stark suggested to Jon Snow that he should join the Night’s Watch. Jon Snow agreed.
Season 1 Age 36
Benjen left Winterfell and began the return journey to Castle Black, home of the Night’s Watch on the Wall, accompanied by Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister who decided he would like to take a look at the Wall.

Benjen left the Wall to go north on a ranging exercise with Othor and Jafer Flowers.
Season 1 Age 36
Benjen’s horse returned to Castle Black without him. A search party was sent out from the Wall that found the bodies of Othor and Jafer and brought them back to the Wall. During the night they became wights that had to be killed and burnt. A further search party headed by Jeor Mormont went north but found no sign of Benjen.
Season 1 Age 36 (revealed in Season 6)
Benjen was attacked by a white walker and died but was saved from becoming a wight by the Children of the Forest who used dragonglass to stop the transformation.
Season 6 Dead
Benjen rescued Bran Stark and Meera Reed from a pursuing force of wights. He took them to a weirwood tree near the Wall.
Season 7 Dead
Benjen stopped Jon Snow from being killed by the army of the dead but was then overpowered himself.
