This timeline details the winners and runners up of the British Darts Organisation (BDO) World Darts Championship 1978 – 2020
The BDO hosted the only World Championship from 1978 – 1994. In 1994 a number of players split from the BDO and formed the Professional Darts Corporation. From 1994 – 2020 both the BDO and PDC held World Darts Championships. In 2020 The BDO held its last World Championship.
