Many spoof horror movies have been released over the years, including A Haunted House, Vampires Suck, and Saturday the 14th. Very few of these have been any good but audiences have paid to see them anyway, suckered in by the opportunity to see their favourite chillers parodied on screen.
The movies within the Scary Movie franchise weren’t well received by critics but they did surprisingly well at the box office. There are five films in the series so far, with a combined gross of nearly $900 million at the worldwide box office.
