Hellboy Movies In Order Of Release

Created by writer-artist Mike Mignola for Dark Horse Comics, the character of Hellboy first appeared in San Diego Comic-Con Comics #2 in 1993.

The well-meaning, cigar-chomping demon rose from the printed page when he made his first movie appearance in 2004’s Hellboy with Ron Perlman in the lead role. A sequel followed, as well as two animated spin-offs with Perlman returning to voice the character. In 2019, the franchise was rebooted with David Harbour cast as the hell-born hero but unlike the previous live-action movies, this new movie was considered by critics to be more hellish than heavenly.

A new live-action movie is currently in the works. Titled Hellboy: The Crooked Man, the movie will star Jack Kesy (12 Strong) as the comic book character and it will be directed by Brian Taylor (Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance). The release date is currently unknown.
